Lassie
Lassie is a hypothetical, Scottish Government run scheme providing all Scottish 11-year-old girls with a free sports kit bag filled with the essentials for participating in sport during puberty.
Lassie was created after research found that 60% of UK girls drop out of sport by the age of 16 - with the main reason being puberty. The kit bag includes period products, a razor and deodorant and a reusable water bottle.
It also includes two information booklets, a map of sports clubs available in the local area and their own choice of sports top, shorts and bra to help girls deal with their developing bodies.
