Tether
Up to 40% of eating disorder patients relapse within their first year after treatment. One of the most effective ways to reduce this risk is through Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT)—a treatment approach that centres the role of family in recovery. BFT helps build open communication, shared responsibility, and a structured environment where emotional support becomes part of daily life.
This product was designed to support those undergoing or post-therapy. At its core is a single, sculptural plinth, placed in a shared, conversational part of the home. Through a set of tactile forms and character pieces, individuals can shape and place their emotions physically, using interaction instead of words to express how they feel.
This encourages subtle, non-verbal dialogue—especially helpful in moments when speaking feels overwhelming. It gently fosters emotional presence and curiosity from others in the space, helping to bridge moments of silence or misunderstanding.
For those who have moved away from familiar support systems, the plinth offers grounding and familiarity. More than a tool, it becomes a quiet presence in the room—an open invitation to connect, reflect, and move forward together.
