Girls

Girls is a body of work that explores the agency women have over their own bodies in relation to the photograph. Playing with the idea of the camera as the male gaze, the work subverts and exaggerates typical portrayals of women, aiming to leave the viewer feeling unsettled.

Largely inspired by Julia Kristeva’s theory of abjection, the work explores the ambiguities of the female experience and urges the viewer to confront their own relationship to the subject.
