Molly Fisher’s documentary series The 33rd County explores Irish diaspora and long-distance nationalism within the artist’s Scottish hometown of Coatbridge.
Working with photography to examine the construction of identity within diasporic contexts, Fisher focuses on the Irish diaspora specifically in Scotland, her series engages with the Scottish town, Coatbridge as a site shaped by migration, labour, and cultural memory.
Fisher explores how Irishness is performed, inherited, and re conceptualised across generations within the town.
