Carson Crisis Centre
Carson crisis centre is an addiction crisis and recovery facility supporting people from initial crisis through to long-term recovery, grounded in compassion, dignity, and the belief that recovery is an ongoing journey rather than a single event. Rooted in Glasgow’s social and cultural context, the design addresses addiction as a complex condition affecting individuals, families, and communities. It prioritises harm reduction, safety, and trauma-informed, calm environments that build trust and stability. The centre integrates health and social support to tackle recovery’s complexity, replacing stigma with understanding and isolation with connection, creating a welcoming, non-stigmatising place for rebuilding purpose and belonging.
