The Charles Oakley Library
The Charles Oakley Library proposes to redevelop the existing Charles Oakley Building in Glasgow into a literacy and community hub. Literacy levels are low among the Glasgow community with 1 in 4 adults facing difficulties in daily life. This project will put literacy at the heart of Glasgow, offering resources, guidance and teaching. It will enable access to community services currently available, but inaccessible across the city like the citizens advice bureau and family services by bringing those services together. This project will bring together the community, increase their literacy, improve their lives and bring back the art of reading.
