Smoke and Mirrors is a project created with intent to raise awareness about COPD and warn young people of the consequences. COPD is a lung disease affecting approximately 3 million people in the UK alone, with over 80% of cases being caused by smoking. While the consequences of smoking itself are commonly known, the specific consequences of COPD remain, much like the condition itself, largely unknown. This project aims to put a spotlight on the visual consequences of COPD, highlighting ways in which the condition can change ones physical appearance as this is what young people care about the most.
