Commercial kitchens are known to be high pressure and physically demanding, but too often ignored is the systemic issue of sexual inequality and harassment that female chefs experience.

Chef Gate aims to tackle this through a set of six kitchen knives, each evoke feelings and emotions that female chefs experience. The knifes impair movement, make you preform sexualised movements or brand you. These knifes would be used as a training exercise for chefs, placed in the kitchen for an extended period so that male chefs understand the difficulties of being a woman in the kitchen because of men’s behaviour.
